Attention Motorists - Road Repairs

Mt. Zion Public Works Crews will be working to repair sections of Wildwood Drive between Woodland Drive and State Highway 121 as well as sections of Woodland Drive between the railroad tracks and Woodland Lane.  Portions of the road will be reduced to one lane throughout the next 2-3 weeks.  Please use caution in this area or take an alternate route.  Thank you for your patience.

Westside Street Maintenance Project begins May 24th

Phase II of the Westside Street Maintenance Project will begin Thursday, May 24th.  Residents on Westside Drive from Baltimore Ave. to Main Street are asked to refrain from parking on the street during daytime hours until the project is complete next week (weather permitting).   Residents will have access to their driveways, however, there may be short periods of time when access may be limited. IDOT to begin patching State Highway 121

Pavement patching work is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23 on State Highway 121 from the south corporate limits of Mt. Zion to US Route 36. The work consists of pavement patching and will be completed between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Motorists are asked to slow down and use extra caution when traveling through the work zone. Dunn Company to Begin Work on Wednesday, April 18th

Dunn Company will begin work on April 18th on the west side of Mt. Zion. The roads affected will be Wildwood Drive, Brierwood Drive, Brierwood Court, Rosewood Drive and Westside Drive. Depending on the weather, the project will take approximately three to four weeks to complete. Residents on the affected street are asked to refrain from parking on the street during this time, especially during daytime hours. Residents will have access to their homes during the project. To Report a Pothole

It has been a rough winter for Illinois roads. If you have a pothole to report, please call 864-5424 or use the Contact Us page on the Village’s website to report the address of the pothole.  Potholes and repairs needed for State Highway 121 are under the jurisdiction of IDOT and can be reported at (217) 342-3951.  State Highway 121 is scheduled to be resurface in fiscal year 2022 as long as funds are available.  Until that time, IDOT will only be repairing and filling pot holes.

The Village of Mt. Zion recognizes the importance of recycling but at the same time understands that not everyone wants to recycle.  Therefore, recycling is optional in the Village of Mt. Zion and has been added as a service available to Mt. Zion residents at no additional cost.

Water Bills Damaged by Post Office

The Village of Mt. Zion Water Department received notice that approximately 200 water bills were damaged by United States Postal Service (USPS) equipment.  USPS will deliver those bills that have readable addresses but they do not know exactly how many or which bills will be undeliverable.
