Water Service Install - Road Closure

The Mt. Zion Public Works Department will be installing a water service line at the intersection of S. Henderson Street and Britton Lane beginning Wednesday, October 2, 2024, and an anticipated ending date of Thursday, October 3, 2024. Due to the nature of the project, there will be temporary delays and/or closures of the roadway at this intersection. Please use caution while driving in the area or avoid the area if possible.
Road Construction Project - Bike Path, Powers Court, Southbrooke Drive

Hydrant Flushing

The Mt. Zion Public Works Department will be flushing hydrants throughout the town over the next several weeks. Residents may experience discolored water and possibly lower than normal pressure. Village Wide Roadway Assessment

The Village of Mt. Zion has partnered with Applied Pavement Technology to provide a roadway assessment throughout the Village of Mt. Zion. On July 1st, 2024, APT will be conducting their automated data collection with their specialized vehicle (pictured below). The data will be collected while maintaining normal traffic speeds and has very little impact on the flow of traffic. Oil and Chip - Various Roads

Dunn Company will be applying oil and chip on various roads throughout Mt. Zion starting Thursday, June 13th and anticipate finishing the project on Friday, June 14th. Please be aware there may be temporary delays when traveling through town and proceed with caution. Contact Village Hall at 217-864-5424 if you have any questions.

Water Billing Notice - Delayed Delivery

The Village has been notified that our water/sewer bills have not been delivered by USPS within the normal time frame as in previous months. Bills were sent out on February 29th by our billing processor, but we have received confirmation from various residents that they are just now receiving their bills today, March 7th. Due to the delivery delay, the bill that was originally due on March 15th, is now due on March 20th. Penalties will be posted on March 21st. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Road Closure - Sunset Drive

Dunn Company will be repairing Sunset Drive on Wednesday, November 1st. The road will be closed entirely from approximately 540 Sunset Drive through the intersection of Bell Street. We anticipate the road being opened back up on Thursday, November 2nd. Below is a screenshot highlighting the impacted area.
Trick-or-Treat Hours

Hours for Halloween trick-or-treating in the Village are 5 PM to 8 PM on October 31st. Parents are encouraged to accompany young children, especially after dark, and inspect all treats.
