Billing Notice

Water Meter Technology Upgrade
1/4/2023
Starting January 5th, 2023, the Mt. Zion Public Works Department will be conducting a technology upgrade for all Village of Mt. Zion water meters. When the upgrade begins, residents can expect to see Public Works Employees working in their yard to access the water meter pit/exterior meter reading box (grey box attached to the house) or knocking on the door for indoor meters. These upgrades will not interrupt any service. Village Staff plans to conduct these upgrades during the hours of 7:00 am and 3:30 pm but will schedule after-hour appointments when necessary.

Petitions for persons interested in running for Mayor of the Village of Mt. Zion or Village Trustee (3 seats) will be available beginning September 20, 2022.
Street Closure

Broadway Street will be closed at the rail crossing for safety improvements on Friday, April 1st from 7:00 am - 5:00 pm. We urge motorists to use an alternative route and use extreme caution when traveling in the area. If you have any questions, please call Village Hall at 217-864-5424.
Woodland Drive Lane Closure (1200 block)
2/1/2022
The northbound lane of Woodland Drive, between Woodland Lane and W. Debby Drive, is closed until further notice to all traffic due to a water main break and repair. Motorists should avoid the area if possible and use extreme caution. Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we make the necessary repairs.
