What are the hours of operation for the Splash Pad?
10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. CST, Memorial Day to Labor Day, weather permitting.

Where is the Splash Pad located?
The Splash Pad is located at Fletcher Park (323 Fletcher Park Blvd. Mt. Zion, IL 62549), directly behind our Recreation Center (enclosed building) at the east end of the paved parking lot.

Does the Splash Pad cost?
No, the Splash Pad is FREE & open to the general public!

Can the Splash Pad be rented?
No, the Splash Pad cannot be rented. It is available to anyone during it's active season between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CST.

Does the Splash Pad have lifeguards?
This Facility is NOT protected by lifegaurds. Persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other responsible person at least 16 years of age. Swimming alone is not recommended.

Is the Splash Pad open if we experience weather?
The Splash Pad fuctions on a recirculating system that typically requires shut-down when rainwater has been present to prevent any filtering issues. Swimming & other water related activities is also prohibited outdoor when lightning is present, including a 15-minute period after the last lightning is observed. The Village of Mt. Zion reserves the right to shut-off the Splash Pad at anytime without prior warning. 

If the Splash Pad is shut down due to inclement weather, IT WILL REMAIN OFF for the ENTIRE DAY regardless of any forecast changes. Due to our recirculating system, we must not only take precautions, but also have downtime to assure we are minimizing water loss and chemical issues due to rain & debris.

What if the Splash Pad won't turn on?
Please visit the touch pads at the sidewalk openings to the Splash Pad. By pressing this button, you will activate the Splash Pad. If the Splash Pad does not start exactly at opening hours (10 a.m. CST), please wait a few moments, as the system can run on a small time lag & may take a few moments to start.

We do not garuntee that the Splash Pad will run at all times during operating hours. On occasion, we might experience technical issues or chemical issues, which causes our systems to automatically shut down. If you experience this during a visit, please feel free to send an inquiry to our website portal, letting us know that the Splash Pad is down. We are unable to promise an immediate fix, but we will do our best to assess the problem!

Does the Splash Pad have bathrooms?
There are two washrooms located next to the Splash Pad. If you follow the (E) sidewalk up to the large shed, you will find the access. The general public also has access to bathrooms at our Large Pavilion (SE), located up the sidewalks. Under no circumstances is anyone allowed entry into the Recreation Center (enclosed building). This is a privatly rented facility, not open to the public, unless otherwise noted.

Are dogs allowed on the Splash Pad?
Unfortunately, due to sanitation requirements, we do not allow dogs or other pets to utilize the Splash Pad. Thank you for your understanding!
