Ameren Gas Pipeline Project

Ameren Illinois plans to upgrade a natural gas transmission pipeline located around the Woodland Drive area, near Goodwin Park. Weather permitting, the project plans to begin the week of May 3, 2021 with an anticipated end date of mid-August. As a result of the project, traffic may be restricted in the area so motorists should plan for lane closures until the project is complete. We are advising residents to use extreme caution while traveling in this area and observe the detour route provided by the proper signage. Mt. Zion Lions Club Cancels Christmas Parade for 2020

With concern of unknown restrictions and potential spread of the virus, the Lions Club reluctantly elected to cancel this year's Christmas parade. "We encourage everyone to stay safe and healthy and have a great Christmas. We plan on coming back next year with the parade."

Broadway Reconstruction Project

BEGINNING THE WEEK OF MONDAY, AUGUST 3, 2020, THE VILLAGE OF MT. ZION WILL BEGIN RECONSTRUCTION OF BROADWAY STREET FROM MAIN STREET TO ILL. RT. 121. THIS PROJECT WILL CONSIST OF STORM SEWER INSTALLATIONS, WATER MAIN REPLACEMENTS AND
RECONSTRUCTION OF THE STREET WITH NEW CONCRETE PAVEMENT, CURB & GUTTER, AND SIDEWALKS. AN UPGRADE TO THE RAILROAD CROSSING IS ALSO PLANNED. THE PROJECT WILL BEGIN WITH STORM SEWER AND WATER MAIN INSTALLATIONS THIS SUMMER AND
FALL. ROAD PAVING WORK IS ANTICIPATED FOR NEXT SPRING AND EARLY SUMMER. COMPLETION OF THIS PROJECT IS ANTICIPATED IN JULY 2021, BUT AS WITH ALL
CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS THE SCHEDULE IS HIGHLY DEPENDENT UPON WEATHER.
