Snow Emergency

Mt. Zion, IL – February 1, 2022 - Beginning Tuesday, February 1st at 9:00 PM until Friday, February 4th at 12:00 PM, the Village of Mt. Zion will be under a snow emergency. Forecasts are predicting a serious snow storm which is a serious public hazard impairing transportation, fire and police protection, as well as other vital facilities of the Village.
During the snow emergency parking is prohibited on all village streets. No person shall park, or cause or permit to be parked, abandon, leave unattended, any vehicle of any kind on village streets. The Mt. Zion Police Department has authority to tow at owners expense any vehicle parked on a Village street in violation of this declared snow emergency. Violators will be subject to parking fines and all fees associated with towing.
