Election

Petitions for persons interested in running for one of the four seats on the Village Board of Trustees up for election in 2025 are available at Village Hall, 1400 Mt. Zion Parkway, Mt. Zion, Illinois, during regular business hours of 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.  Three seats are 4-year terms beginning May 2025 and ending April 2029.  One seat is a 2-year term beginning May 2025 and ending April 2027.

Circulation of such petitions may begin on August 20, 2024.  Petitions must contain the signatures of 39-89 registered voters. Candidates must be United States citizens, registered voters, age 18 or older and must reside within the Village limits for one year preceding the election. Nominating petitions may be filed at Village Hall Tuesday, November 12 through Friday, November 15, 2024 during the hours of 7:30am and 4:00pm or Monday, November 18, 2024, during the hours of 7:30am and 5:00pm. The Consolidated Election will be held on April 1, 2025.
