Election
Petitions for persons interested in running for office in the 2027 Consolidated Election are now available at Village Hall, 1400 Mt. Zion Parkway, Mt. Zion, Illinois, during regular business hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The following offices will be up for election:
- Mayor – one (1) seat, four-year term
- Trustee – three (3) seats, four-year terms
- Trustee – two (2) seats, two-year terms
The Consolidated Election will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2027.
Circulation of nominating petitions may begin on August 25, 2026. Petitions must contain 28 signatures of registered voters. Candidates must be a United States citizen, a registered voter, at least 18 years of age, and a resident of the Village for at least one year preceding the election.
Nominating petitions may be filed at Village Hall Monday, November 16, 2026 through Monday, November 20, 2026, during regular business hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and Monday, November 23, 2026 during the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
